Channel integrations

Connect your sales channel to your Verified Account so Zonos can pull your catalog items and keep them compliance-ready for U.S.-bound shipments.

Channel integrations connect your ecommerce platform to your Zonos Verified Account. Once connected, Zonos automatically pulls your catalog items and keeps them in sync—no manual data entry required. Every item in your catalog is then screened for U.S. Partner Government Agency (PGA) requirements, so your shipments don't get held at the border.

If you don't sell through a supported channel, you can import your catalog items with a CSV file instead. Imported items get the same treatment as synced items.

How it works

  1. Connect your sales channel to your Verified Account in Dashboard.

  2. Zonos pulls your catalog items from the channel and keeps them up to date as you add or change products.

  3. Every item is automatically screened for PGA requirements—such as CPSC and FDA regulations—that apply to U.S. imports. Items that need more information show a Needs attention badge in your catalog and on a dedicated Needs attention tab, and Zonos pre-fills most of the required answers for you to review and confirm. Learn more about PGA checks.

  4. You ship as usual. Because your items are screened before they ship, U.S.-bound shipments are less likely to be delayed or held at the border.

Note: Syncing runs on a schedule rather than instantly. Orders are checked hourly and catalog every six hours. The Channels page shows when orders and catalog each last synced for a connection, so you can always see which of the two you're waiting on. Some situations make a sync take longer—see When syncing takes longer.

Note: PGA checks apply to all U.S. inbound shipments. Shipments to other destinations are not affected.

Supported channels

You can connect the following channels to your Verified Account:

What syncs from your channel

When you connect a channel, new and updated products automatically map to your Zonos catalog. Synced fields include:

  • SKU and product ID
  • Name and description
  • Price and currency
  • Weight and weight unit
  • Universal HS code (if set in your channel)
  • Country of origin (if set in your channel)
  • Image URL

The more complete your product data is in your channel, the more accurate your duty calculations and PGA screening will be. If a field like HS code or country of origin is missing, Zonos can fill in the gaps—see how Catalog works for details.

When syncing takes longer

Most of the time orders appear within the hour and catalog within six. These are the situations where it takes longer:

  • The first sync after you connect. Zonos pulls your whole catalog, not just what changed, along with your recent order history—so your existing products and orders are there from the start rather than only what happens from now on. A large catalog can take several minutes, and a long order history is fetched across several syncs rather than all at once.
  • A channel that has had nothing new for a while. Zonos checks quiet channels less often—as little as every six hours for orders and every 72 hours for catalog. It returns to the normal schedule as soon as a check finds something, so the first order after a quiet stretch can take longer to appear than the next one.
  • Busy periods. When a lot of connections are waiting to sync, a scheduled run can be skipped and picked up on the following one.
  • The periodic full catalog re-sync. Routine catalog syncs only look at products you've added or changed since the last one, which is why they're quick. Every 14 days Zonos re-reads your catalog in full to catch anything a routine sync missed, and that sweep takes longer—closer to the first sync than to a routine one.
  • A connection that keeps failing. After several consecutive failures Zonos stops syncing that connection until you reconnect it. Its last-synced times stop advancing, which is the signal to reconnect.

Pricing

Connecting a channel is free. The app that links your Amazon, eBay, Etsy, Shopify, Wix, or WooCommerce account to Zonos costs nothing to install or use, and there is no per-order or per-listing fee for syncing your catalog and orders.

Support

Questions about connecting a channel, or help with a sync:

  • CSV import — The other way to build your catalog. Use it instead of a channel integration if you don't sell through a supported channel.
  • PGA checks — Screen your catalog items for U.S. agency (PGA) requirements.
  • Supporting documents — Upload certificates and other paperwork for your goods.
